It’s been 35 years since Tim Burton introduced us to the mischievous trickster Beetlejuice, and after several stalled attempts (including his original sequel concept, Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian), the director has finally conjured a sequel. Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara reprise their roles, and Jenna Ortega joins the cast as Lydia Deetz’s daughter, Astrid. The prospect of watching Keaton give another unhinged performance is worth the price of admission alone, and it’s always fun to get lost in Burton’s macabre worlds.
